At Urban Mapping, we’re building world-class tools to help organizations make web-based mapping applications. We focus on the Mapfluence platform and developers build the stuff that shines. This is where you come in. Using your proven skills in cartography, web development with a healthy dose of curiosity, you’ll simply make maps. Your mandate will be to research, conceptualize and create. Using our on-demand catalog of 10,000+ indicators (including demographics, noise levels around airport runways, religious affiliation, current/historical unemployment rates, transportation infrastructure and much much more! * Proven hacking skills Have you had success bridging private sector and government through technology? Created a prototype of a game-changing application for social good?
* Technical chops You have a strong foundation in web-based technologies and the art of cartography.
* Curiosity of mind and of spirit Are you innately curious about the world around you? How do we leverage (or not) technology and think about how to make it work for people, not the other way? Inspired by the work of others?
* Flexibility Are you available for a three month residence?
* Geography You need not live in the San Francisco area, but we’d welcome you in the office from time to time to learn from you.
We pay you to build; your pay depends on experience. If you don’t live in San Francisco, we’ll bring you out this way for a nice work trip/vacation. If you live in the area, we might send you away for a few days! Exact pay depends on your profile, desires, capabilities, etc…Possibility of renewing the position for an additional term might be possible.
