MapQuest Does Public Transportation (with help from Urban Mapping)

We’re thrilled to be a part of the recent MapQuest resurgence– since embracing OpenStreetMap, there has been a flurry of enhancements and new products. Today’s announcement is around MQ’s public transit offering. Urban Mapping has been in the business of normalizing, collecting and maintaining mass transit data for some time, and the MapQuest deal is the most visible to date. We have field-researched dozens of transit systems across North America, allowing us to offer highly-detailed information that can be ingested by The Algorithm. This includes a great deal of station and entrance level detail (handicap accessibility, one way exits, hours of operation, station amenities, fare information, elegant cartographic representation and much more. Our Geo Fact Finder reference application shows off some of this info and we have a lot more in the works.
